Producer – Julien Fauconnier – Harvester / Distiller
I am essential oil producer, hydrosols and solar macerations in Balagne, near Île-Rousse in Upper Corsica since 2010. The distillery is located on a property of several dozen hectares. I am also an olive grower, producing organic olive oil, and an almond grower, producing organic almonds.
I personally take care of harvesting the aromatic plants, always in natural settings (no cultivation) and distillation.
The harvest is done by handHarvesting is most often done with a toothed sickle, sometimes with pruning shears. I carefully sort the plants to ensure maximum quality. The harvesting period will vary for each flower or plant depending on its flowering time and the weather conditions, in order to obtain oils with exceptional aromas.
Distillations are carried out using a steam generator.at low pressure, at controlled temperature, and above all they are ofvery long duration (up to 7.5/8 hours for some plants)The tank in which the plants are placed is made of stainless steel and the coil is made of copper.
All these characteristics allow me to produce very high quality essential oils, but the quantities available are modest.

All my essential oils and hydrosols are certifiedOrganic Farmingby Ecocert France SAS and I carry out gas chromatography (GC) for some of them to certify the chemotype (for example verbenone for Rosemary or 1-8 Cineole for Green Myrtle) or the concentration of certain molecules (Italidione and Neryl Acetate for Italian Helichrysum).
I presented my products at the 2019 Paris International Agricultural Show.
